Exciting discovery of a collection of over 350 original photographs, many unseen before, of Naval aircraft, plane crash sites, ships of the fleet, Admiral Byrd Antarctic Expidition II and many other subjects, all taken in the 1930's - Torpedo and Bombing Plane Squadron 1 (VT-1)

17 June 1922 - Formally designated Torpedo Plane Squadron 1. Standard operating allowance 18 single engine torpedo-planes for torpedo and bombing duty in conjunction with fleet exercises.

Attached to USS Wright; base temporarily at N.A.S. Hampton Roads, or elsewhere on shore, as directed by Commander Scouting Fleet, alternating with VS-1 Squadron in base on USS Wright. (The ultimate assignment of this squadron is to Carrier No. 1).
